Big Bash League 2016-17 - Hobart Hurricanes Squad

George Bailey, Cameron Boyce, Stuart Broad, Dan Christian, Hamish Kingston, Ben McDermott, Dom Michael, Simon Milenko, Tim Paine, Sam Rainbird, Jake Reed, Clive Rose, Kumar Sangakkara, Shaun Tait, Jonathan Wells

Ins: Bazley, Broad, Kingston (Adelaide Strikers), McDermott, Short

Outs: Ben Dunk (Adelaide Strikers), Michael Hill, Joe Mennie (Sydney Sixers), Darren Sammy, Timm van der Gugten

Availability: Big-name recruit Broad isn't in England's limited-over frame so should be free to play most of the tournament, although a foot injury has been an issue on the Test tour of India,

which concludes on December 20. Bailey has been out of form in ODI cricket for Australia but should still be picked for the upcoming series against Pakistan, ruling him out of the back half of the BBL.

Strengths: Boyce and Tait – while reasonably expensive – were both regular wicket-takers last summer, and if Broad is fit and firing then the Hurricanes have a handy bowling arsenal.

Weaknesses: The likely absence of Bailey at the pointy end of the tournament leaves a big hole in Hobart's batting order and will mean Paine and Christian need more help from Sangakkara, who failed to deliver last summer.
