Big Bash League 2016-17 - Melbourne Renegades Squad

Aaron Finch (Captain), Dwayne Bravo, Tom Beaton, Tom Cooper, Xavier Doherty, Callum Ferguson, Marcus Harris, Brad Hogg, Sunil Narine, Peter Nevill, James Pattinson, Nathan Rimmington, Peter Siddle, Matthew Short, Chris Tremain, Matthew Wade, Cameron White, Nick Winter

Ins: Harris (Perth Scorchers), Hogg (Perth Scorchers), Narine, Short

Outs: Cameron Gannon, Chris Gayle, Nathan Hauritz, Guy Walker

Availability: Finch was short on runs during the Chappell-Hadlee series but will probably still get the nod for the upcoming Pakistan one-dayers, meaning he'll likely miss the end of the tournament.

Wade's Test recall means he'll probably miss the whole season, but his inclusion has freed up Nevill. Siddle's immediate international future looks clouded, so could be free to play every game, and Pattinson's form and fitness will dictate if he's called up for Australia before the series is over.

Strengths: White continues to be a limited-overs force, and along with Finch and Bravo provides the nucleus of a formidable batting line-up. Paceman Tremain is having a terrific season with Victoria and is one to keep an eye on.

Weaknesses: For all the negative headlines he created last summer, Gayle was the Renegades' leading run-scorer and his on-field absence will be noticed. Bowling was the side's major on-field problem last season though, but the inclusion of veteran Hogg and fellow spinner – West Indian Narine – should help address that issue.
