Big Bash League 2016-17 - Perth Scorchers Squad

Ashton Agar, Cameron Bancroft, Jason Behrendorff, Ian Bell, Hilton Cartwright, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Mitchell Johnson, Michael Klinger, Mitchell Marsh, Shaun Marsh, James Muirhead, Joel Paris, Jhye Richardson, Ashton Turner, Andrew Tye, Adam Voges (Captain), Sam Whiteman, David Willey

Ins: Bell, Cartwright, Johnson, Richardson

Outs: Michael Carberry, Marcus Harris (Melbourne Renegades), Brad Hogg (Melbourne Renegades), Simon Mackin

Availability: Fitness permitting, Shaun Marsh remains in contention for the second and third Tests against Pakistan and could then join brother Mitch in the ODI series against the same opposition. Voges look unlikely to play again for Australia though, while Cartwright is on the fringe of the ODI squad.

More worrying is the fast bowling injury curse. Behrendorff's entire campaign is in doubt after a recent stress fracture in his left fibula, while Coulter-Nile is an indefinite absentee, and Paris and Tye have also had recent injury issues.

Strengths: Klinger again led from the front with the bat last summer but is having a relatively lean summer. Voges' likely inclusion for most of the season should help, while Johnson looms as the unknown having barely played any competitive cricket in a year since retiring from the international game late last year. Former England batsman Bell is another who the Scorchers will need to perform.

Weaknesses: The fast bowling has been decimated by injuries, while veteran Hogg has also departed for Melbourne.
