Big Bash League 2016-17 - Sydney Sixers Squad

Moises Henriques (Captain), Sean Abbott, Sam Billings, Jackson Bird, Doug Bollinger, Johan Botha, Ryan Carters, Ben Dwarshuis, Brad Haddin, Josh Hazlewood, Daniel Hughes, Nic Maddinson, Joe Mennie, Nathan Lyon, Steve O'Keefe, Jason Roy, Jordan Silk, Mitch Starc

Ins: Billings, Hughes (Sydney Thunder), Mennie, Roy

Outs: Ed Cowan, Mickey Edwards, Michael Lumb, Steve Smith

Availability: Starc and Hazlewood are essentially there in name only and are highly unlikely to feature. Bird, Lyon and Maddinson are also in Australia's Test squad but should be available after the Sydney Test. O'Keefe might also be in the frame for that Third Test, having been picked for it last summer.

Strengths: Abbott was the most prolific bowler for the Sixers in 2015-2016 but will need to improve his economy rate of 10 per over. Lyon and Bollinger also contributed steadily but the middling Sixers need one of their bowlers to take the competition by the scruff of the neck.

Weaknesses: Lumb and Haddin both had reasonable seasons with the bat last summer but they require more assistance from others like Silk, Maddinson and Henriques if the Sixers are to challenge for another title five years after their first.
