The 25-year-old Australia all-rounder Mitchell Marsh is likely to be sidelined for nine months with surgery required for a shoulder injury picked up during the second Test against India in Bengaluru, PTI reported. The injury also rules him out of the 10th edition of the Indian Premier League and possibly, the 2017-’18 Ashes Down Under.
Australia and has since been replaced by Marcus Stoinis in the Australia squad. The Western Australian is scheduled to undergo a shoulder reconstruction surgery in the coming few days. Marsh’s represents Rising Pune Supergiant in the IPL, and was forced to withdraw from the cash-rich event midway through last season as well after suffering a side strain.
