Ranchi's debut as India's 26th Test venue

Ranchi pitch report: "The surface looks okay. The watering of this surface is just make-up. The cracks will open as the game goes on. If you're a quick bowler, you will only get bounce and carry in the first hour.
There's no live grass, there are no cracks but that will happen over time. Around the four-meter mark; that's what you want to be targetting. No doubt that the team that wins the toss will want to bat. Keep an eye on these cracks," is what Ravi Shastri and Brett Lee make of it.
